This Agapanthus has beautiful, hard-to-resist variegated foliage that makes it stand out from other varieties, providing additional interest throughout the season beyond its flowering time.
- In late June and July, umbels of light purple-blue bell-shaped flowers striped with white are produced on strong, very upright stems. (***Restrict the roots and give as much sun as possible for best flowering results!)
- The most distinctive feature of this Agapanthus is its cream and green variegated foliage, which starts to emerge from April/May onwards, forming a tidy attractive clump.
- Best suited to full sun locations with well-draining soil, as they tend to dislike areas that get very wet in the winter. Very drought-tolerant once established, and also very suitable to exposed coastal gardens. A great addition to rockeries, raised beds and mixed borders, but particularly suited to keeping in pots long-term. Flowers can also be used in flower arranging.
- The flowers will attract a wide range of pollinators.
- Like all Agapanthus varieties, the best flower results come from plants where the roots are restricted in their spread. This is what makes them very suitable for pots, which should result in many flower stems each year. If you find those planted in the ground have lovely healthy foliage but no flowers, try to dig up a clump and keep it in a pot, or keep it in a reasonably sized pot when planting into the ground so that the roots will still be restricted.
- Height and Spread approx. 50-80cm x 40-60cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
