A vigorous spreading perennial with fantastic impact - its show-stopping flower display is hard to resist, just make sure you are happy with a potential take-over in the are where it is planted!
- From July/August, masses of elegant snow-white flowers, centred with beautifully contrasting butter-yellow stamens, are produced on airy upright stems. Flowers continue into the autumn months, until the frost sets in for winter.
- The deep green, divided foliage emerges from mid spring, forming a lush ground cover of green long before the flowers are produced. May retain some low ground cover foliage in winter months.
- It will grow successfully pretty much anywhere, it just dislikes areas that are very wet in the winter months. Its very tolerant of shaded conditions, such as under tree canopies, and is a stunning late-flowering addition to cottage gardens. If space is limited, it can be grown in a pot where it is restricted in its spread. Its long flower stems can make a good addition to flower arrangements.
- Very attractive to a vast range of pollinators such as bees, hoverflies, butterflies and other beneficial species.
- Spreads by rhizomes under the soil, and so can rapidly spread throughout an area. It should only be planted where it can be given room to grow and naturalise, in cottage gardens or woodland planting where it can happily dominate.
- Height and Spread approx. 90-120cm x 60-90cm+.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
