A compact ornamental grass noted for its glistening nodding seed heads that rattle and quiver in the wind, giving it its common name 'Quaking Grass'.
- Its blue-green foliage forms very compact clumps, later turning to a golden brown in the autumn which holds some interest into the winter months.
- From late spring throughout summer, upright slender spikes bear panicles of small heart-shaped flowers that are purple-green in colour, creating a glittery hazy cloud above the foliage.
- Will grow basically anywhere in a full sun or lightly shaded position, and can freely self seed to create its own drifts throughout its planting space. A great plant for adding movement, texture and interest to flower beds, cottage gardens, prairie-style planting schemes and wildlife or naturalistic gardens. The glittery flower panicles are great in both fresh and dried cut flower arrangements.
- Can be cut back to 4-6 inches in March/April to allow for lush fresh growth for the upcoming growing season.
- Height and Spread approx. 40-60cm x 40-60cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
