An attractive form of New Zealand Sedge with vibrant foliage that slowly changes in colour as the season progresses.
- Long, slender foliage is olive-green when it first emerges, gradually turning to various fiery shades of warm copper to orange, and later darkening to orange-red. The colour is more vibrant in a full sun location, and gets more intense as the season moves to the cooler autumn and winter months.
- It is evergreen, and so provides year round interest while also creating texture and contrast against surrounding greens and flowering perennials.
- In summer, insignificant small brown flowers that are tinted with red are produced on upright spikes.
- Ideal for full sun or dappled shade, but requires well-draining soil that does not retain too much water in the winter months. It is reasonably drought tolerant once established. A fantastic plant for pots, while also providing a beautiful contrast in colour and texture with surrounding plants in cottage gardens, prairie-style plantings, rockeries, coastal gardens, raised beds and mixed borders!
- Comb through the foliage in spring to remove any browning or dead leaves, or if needed, the plant can be cut back in late spring to allow for a full new fresh head of growth.
- Height and Spread approx. 40-60cm x 40-60cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
