Crocosmia 'Lucifer'

A vigorous, upright, tall variety of Montbretia, known for its striking fiery flowers and hardiness, allowing it to grow in pretty much any garden situation. 

- From around late June until late August, tall arching sprays of vibrant, fiery paprika-red flowers with yellow throats are produced on sturdy upright stems. 

- It has long, mid-green sword-like foliage which adds texture to the garden from May until the first frost.

- Suitable for pretty much any garden situation, growing best in full sun to semi-shade areas with well-draining soil. They are very drought-tolerant once established, making them a suitable plant for coastal gardens and exposed sites. They are very easily grown in pots, although it may require support with the exceptional height with this variety. It is a fantastic plant for colour, texture, impact and height in the backs mixed beds and borders, and makes for a great cut flower too!

- Please note these can spread quite vigorously in their clumps via corms under ground, and can be difficult to 100% remove them from an area once planted. So just make sure that you are happy with the planting space before you commit to them, and place them appropriately considering their ultimate height of 120-150cm.  

- The flowers will attract a wide range of pollinators.
