A cultivar of our native wild Foxglove, this tall, attractive biennial plant can easily self-seed and naturalise in almost any area.
- Tall spikes of white tubular flowers with purple-spotted throats are produced in early summer. To prevent self-seeding, spent flower stems can be removed before they go to seed. This can also encourage a second flush of flowers.
- Soft pale-green evergreen leaves form low rosettes in its first year when the seed germinates. The foliage remains through the winter into the second year, when the flowers are later produced.
- Grows best in shade and dappled shade in woodland areas. It can however also withstand full sun locations providing the soil does not dry out too much.
- Flowers are a magnet for a wide range of pollinator species, in particular bumblebees, honey bees and butterflies.
- Height and Spread approx. 100-150cm x 45-60cm.
- When growing by seed, it is advised to keep some for sowing the following year to ensure that you have plants flowering every year (due to its biennial nature).
- Harmful if eaten.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot.
