This semi-evergreen fern is a cultivar of the native Irish fern Dryopteris affinis, typically found in damp woodland habitats.
- It produces long, deeply divided, crested fronds which are light green in colour when they first emerge, developing into a fresh, lush mid-green as the season progresses.
- Typical of damp, shaded woodland habitats, it will need protection from direct sun and drought to avoid scorching. It can be used as foliage interest in mixed borders and raised beds if sheltered between other plants, but will thrive best planted under tree canopies or in shaded areas of the garden.
- May retain some foliage in the winter months if it is kept well sheltered. However, it will greatly benefit from a cut back in spring to allow for the fresh new foliage to emerge.
- Height and Spread approx. 80-100cm x 80-100cm.
- Supplied in a 11cm pot
