This semi-evergreen fern, known as the Autumn Fern, it gets its name from the stunning autumnal shades of the fronds, which provide colour the whole way through the growing season.
- Young foliage emerges in spring with bright pink to coppery orange tones, which become more impactful as the frond unfurls. As they mature, the fronds will turn to a deep green, but as new foliage continues to emerge throughout the growing season, the contrasting colours continue for most of the summer and into autumn.
- This is one of the more drought-tolerant ferns which can take a bit of full sun too, providing it is protected from hot scorching afternoon sun and the soil does not dry out too severely. It can therefore be grown in a wide range of garden habitats, making a great contrasting addition and foliage interest in mixed perennial borders, raised beds and dappled shaded woodland areas.
- May retain some foliage in the winter months if it is kept well sheltered. However, it can often benefit from a cut back in spring, to allow for the fresh new foliage to emerge.
- Height and Spread approx. 60cm x 45-60cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
