An upright, clump-forming perennial, also known as Cone Flower, provides long-lasting colour in the later autumn months.
- Vibrant magenta pink petals surround large orange-grown central cones. Flowers are produced in abundance on sturdy green stems from late July until November. Regular deadheading will ensure plenty of flowers that will last until the frost.
- Toothed, dark green leaves form a neat clump below the flowers.
- Very well draining soil is essential for its survival on a year-to-year basis. It dislikes areas that get too wet during the winter months, which can be a reoccurring problem over these last few very cold, wet winters. Adding a layer of sand or grit to the base of the planting hole may help with improving drainage and increase its chances of surviving the winter.
- Best suited to hot, sunny areas with sandy or gritty soil. It grows well in full sun mixed borders and raised beds. Thrives best in coastal gardens and prairie-style planting, and also last well as cut flowers.
- The large orange-brown cone in the centre of each flower provides an ideal landing platform for all kinds of pollinators, appealing more to butterflies and bees.
- Height and Spread approx. 80-100cm x 60cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
