Thalictrum 'Black Stockings'

This tall, elegant, upright perennial is a form of Meadow Rue that will add height and architectural interest and structure to your garden beds. 

- Clustered sprays of small, fluffy, purple pink flowers are produced on very tall, dark purple to black stems from late June until August. The flowers tower high above the foliage, and create an airy, hazy effect. 

- Lacy mid-green leaves form a dense mound of fresh foliage at the base of the plant.

- A really stunning plant that everyone should try in their garden. It requires shelter, as strong winds can cause the stems to break. Its best in semi-shade, but also works well in full sun if it doesn't dry out. A fantastic plant for cottage gardens, mixed beds and prairie-style planting, and can make an excellent cut flower.

- Great for pollinators, and will appeal to a wide range of bees and butterflies in particular. 

- Due to its tall, delicate stems, support with bamboo canes may be required if the planting area is typically exposed or windy. 

- Height and Spread approx. 150-200cm x 60-90cm.
