A very versatile mat-forming evergreen perennial that hugs the ground in a wide range of garden habitats.
- This plant is grown more for its foliage, however, in late spring to early summer, small button-shaped, insignificant yellow to brown flowers are produced which sit on top of the carpeting foliage.
- Small but very densely packed feathery fern-like foliage makes for an attractive ground cover. The evergreen foliage is an unusual purple-black colour with greener tips, with the purple-black more prominent if grown in a full sun location. If grown in deep shade, it will appear more of a dark green colour.
- Suitable for most soil types and aspects, but performing better in full sun to dappled shade. Perfect for growing in wall crevices or cracks in pavements, and can be grown in a pot so it can be easily contained.
- It will grow well under the cover of trees and shrubs, or as a low edging plant in mixed borders, but just bare in mind that it does keep spreading. It can be contained by using edging to stop the spread, or just regularly divide and remove the plant from areas where it is not wanted.
- Height and Spread approx. 10cm x 30-50cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
