A large, clump forming, deciduous grass, aptly named for the distinctive white stripe bands that occur along each blade of foliage.
- Long, arching, narrow foliage is bright green in colour, with horizontal bands of creamy yellow decorating each blade at regular intervals, becoming more prominent from late summer onwards. The foliage forms a large, dense mound that should be given room to grow. Turns a straw yellow-brown colour in the autumn.
- From late July throughout the autumn, feathery, tassel-like flower heads are produced that are white in colour with hints of pink. These flowers hold well and carry some interest into the winter months, as they catch raindrops and natural light beautifully, creating an elegant backdrop to autumnal perennial beds.
- Requires full sun or semi-shade, it is considered low maintenance but does need good space to grow. Its architectural foliage brings texture and form to mixed borders and cottage gardens, or can be a good standalone focal point in the garden. Flower stalks can look great in cut flower arrangements, and last a long time when dried.
- Should be cut back to 4-6 inches in March/April to allow for lush fresh growth for the upcoming growing season.
- Height and Spread approx. 120-150cm x 90-120cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
