A compact form of aromatic, deciduous Russian Sage with an upright, shrubby habit.
- From late July until September, upright spikes of tiny violet-blue flowers are produced in abundance, creating an airy haze of colour. Regular deadheading will prolong flowering time.
- Its deeply divided grey-green leaves have a strong sage-like fragrance. The foliage and silver-white stems making a stunning backdrop to the vibrant flowers, and contrast nicely with surrounding greens and other perennials.
- Requires full sun and very well draining soil that does not get too wet in the winter months. It is very drought-tolerant once established, and so is very suitable to exposed, coastal areas, and is perfect for Mediterranean- and prairie-style planting. Also a great addition to raised beds, pots, mixed borders, cottage and wildlife gardens. It looks fantastic when planted in drifts amongst various ornamental grasses and other airy flowering perennials. It makes an excellent cut flower too, in both fresh and dried arrangements!
- The flowers are very attractive to a wide range of pollinator species.
