A very striking, vigorous perennial that is grown more for its stunning foliage rather than its flowering potential.
- From July to October, clusters of small white flowers are produced at the tips of its colourful bright red stems.
- The foliage is the real show-stopper with this one. Long, sharply pointed leaves first emerge purple-brown in colour, before developing a contrasting silvery-grey chevron-shaped distinctive markings with a darker plum centre. As the leaves further mature they turn more to green in colour.
- Best used as a foliage plant in the middle of a semi-shaded bed, and will combine beautifully with other foliage plants, as well as providing contrast against surrounding flowers. Its a versatile plant that will also tolerate full sun and coastal gardens.
- The flowers will attract butterflies and other pollinators.
- Height and Spread approx. 90-120cm x 80-100cm.
- Part of the Knotweed family, but is NOT invasive and does not spread in the garden beyond the clump where it was originally planted.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
