Phalaris arundinacea 'Pure Gold'

This vibrant perennial grass is very quick growing, spreading by underground stolons that can act as a good ground cover, but with potential to take over an area if allowed. It is compact but vigorous, so just be careful where you choose to plant. 

- Appropriately named as Yellow Ribbon Grass, it produces narrow bands of striking illuminous yellow foliage, which forms dense, bushy, spreading clumps. The yellow colour is much more prominent in semi-shade to shaded areas. It will be more green in colour in areas of full sun. 

- It can sometimes produce small brown flower heads in early summer.

- A good plant for dapple shade areas with damp soils, as it does not like to dry out. Perfect for planting alongside ponds or water feature areas, and can also be grown in pots in shaded areas, which will help restrict its spread. 

- Height and Spread approx. 60cm x 60-80cm+.
