These flowers are just πππ Yes, it's yet another variety of Shrubby Sage that guarantees to add masses of colour to your garden over a long flowering time.
- From June until the first frost, typically November time, an abundance of the most gorgeous mauve-violet flowers fringed with glowing lilac-white are produced on dense, branching stems. The flowersΒ are said to look similar to doves wings, which is where it gets its name from.Β
- Its semi-evergreen foliage retains some winter interest and somewhat protects the plant during harsh winter frosts. It is also highly aromatic, adding extra interest.Β
- Perfect for any full sun, sheltered location with well-draining soil. A great choice for coastal and Mediterranean-style gardens, cottage gardens, mixed borders, raised beds, and in prairie-style planting. It also works really well in pots, making it an ideal balcony or patio plant where the long-lasting flowers and scent can be admired all through summer and autumn.Β
- Flowers are very attractive to bees, hoverflies, butterflies and many other beneficial pollinator species.Β
- Plants can remain in their shrubby form, but it is better to pruned back hard in spring to keep stems young with fresh new growth that will flower more prolifically. Sometimes can be susceptible to very cold winter frosts, so protection may be needed (perhaps below -5C or so).Β
- Height and Spread approx. 60-90cm x 60-90cm.Β
