Being honest, we're not completely sure about this one ourselves, but there's something about it we just couldn't resist! Its strangely variegated foliage makes it stand out from the many many Sanguisorba varieties out there. Maybe a Plant Hunters choice, maybe....? (and no it's not diseased, it's meant to look like that!)

- Small bottle-brush-like flowers, deep red to maroon in colour, are produced on slender airy stems that move elegantly in the breeze. Flowers from July until September/October.

- The unusual fern-like foliage looks a bit like there might be something wrong with it (we promise, there's not!), but it is randomly splashed and flickered with irregular spots of yellow, contrasting against the normal deep green colour expected from Sanguisorba leaves. The foliage forms a tidy compact mound beneath the flowers, and has a lovely fresh cucumber scent when picked or crushed.

- Regular deadheading will encourage new flowers and prolong its flowering time.

- Suitable for any full sun location or dappled shade location. An interesting addition to herbaceous borders, prairie gardens, raised beds, pots and wildlife gardens.

- The flowers are typically very attractive to pollinators.

- Height and Spread approx. 60-80cm x 40-60cm.

- Supplied in a 9cm pot
