An attractive, compact semi-evergreen perennial naturally found in mountainous areas of the Kinki peninsula in Japan.
- Sprays of small, airy white flowers are produced on dainty stems that float elegantly above the foliage from late May to July.
- Rounded, hairy foliage is mostly evergreen, and so will retain some winter interest as a nice ground cover. Leaves are purple on the underside, and a deep grey-green on top with contrasting silver veins.
- A fantastic plant for semi to deeply shaded areas, and is very drought-tolerant once established. It does not like areas that retain too much water, or are too wet during the winter months. Ideal for underplanting trees, between shrubs and perennials in mixed borders, shaded rockeries or damp walls and crevices, and also for pots.
- It spreads in a similar way to Strawberries - via stolons which look like bright red threads, that stretch out from the foliage base and root themselves into the ground nearby, producing a new baby plant. So they can slowly spread and cover an area well, but can be very easily controlled at the same time.
- The flowers will attract a wide range of pollinators.
- Height and Spread approx. 20cm x 30cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
