A vigorous deciduous ground cover plant related to the Mint family (although not typically used in the same way!). A very low-maintenance spreader that can run rampant if allowed.
- From June to August, masses of gentian blue tubular, hooded flowers are produced, which give the plant its common name of 'Skullcap'.
- Its narrow, pointed, wrinkled dark green leaves form a dense mat that creeps along the ground, acting as an effective weed suppressant.
- Best planted in a full sun to semi-shaded location with well-draining soil. A vigorous plant for spreading through rockery gardens or pavement cracks, but can also be grown in pots and edging raised beds and borders.
- The flowers are a magnet for a wide range of bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
- Height and Spread approx. 10-20cm x 40-60cm+.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
