A low maintenance, mat-forming evergreen Thyme that cushions the ground with its soft, aromatic foliage that has both culinary and medicinal uses.
- From May to July, it becomes covered in small pink flowers that gradually fade to very pale pink to white, giving a sea of colour and acts as a magnet for pollinators.
- Its woolly, small grey-green leaves are strongly scented and provide year round interest. It is commonly grown as a lawn alternative or between paths and paving stones, and the aromatic foliage is especially impactful when it is trampled on or disturbed.
- An ideal plant for full sun, dry areas - perfect for rockeries, growing in cracks and crevices in walls or paving, or for growing in containers. As mentioned above, it is a very good substitute for lawns, as it provides flowers, hugely benefits wildlife, can take trampling and walking-on, and does not require regularly mowing or pruning.
- However, further to the above, it is advised to prune/cut just after flowering in order to maintain its compact habit and prevent it from becoming woody.
- The flowers will attract all sorts of pollinators, from bees to butterflies and everything in between.
- Height and Spread approx. 10cm x 30-50cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
