This ground cover Thyme is a carpeting evergreen perennial, perfect for growing in crevices of walls or pavements, for example, amongst a range of other beneficial culinary and medicinal uses.
- From May to July, small white flowers are produced which hug the ground in a sea of colour that sits above the foliage.
- It has very small light to grey-green leaves that are highly aromatic and provide year round interest. The fragrance is released when the leaves are crushed, either by picking or by trampling underfoot.
- A fantastic plant for full sun areas, and is reasonably drought-tolerant once established. A must-have for rockery and/or Mediterranean gardens, growing in cracks and crevices in walls or paving as mentioned above, or for growing in containers.
- It is used a lot as a substitute for lawns, as it provides flowers, hugely benefits wildlife, can take trampling and walking-on, and does not require regularly mowing or pruning. However, it is advised to prune/cut just after flowering in order to maintain its compact habit and prevent it from becoming woody.
- The flowers will attract all sorts of pollinators, from bees to butterflies and everything in between.
- Height and Spread approx. 10cm x 30-50cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
