A compact, clump-forming evergreen grass that forms neat, rounded mounds. Also known as 'Red Hooked Sedge'.
-Stiff, glossy, striking red-green to red-brown arching leaves makes for a beautiful contrast against green foliage and flowers of surrounding plants.
- Spikes of dark brown to black flowers are produced in summer.
- Its compact form is perfect for softening borders, edging raised beds, adding to rockeries and also for containers.
- Thrives best in semi-shade with moist but well-draining soil, and will also grow well in full sun as long as it doesn't dry out too much.
- Once established it can self-seed and spread, however its growth is slow, and so can be easily controlled by removing young plants from areas they are not wanted, or by removing the olds flowers before they go to seed.
- Old foliage and flower heads can be cut back in spring to allow for fresh new growth.
- Height and Spread approx. 30cm x 30cm.
- Supplied in a 9cm pot
